Newmont Ghana Gold Limited a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the World’s largest gold mining companies.
The successful candidate will function at the crew supervision level to ensure safe, environmental compliance and cost effective welding maintenance, repair support for all Shovel & Drill equipment and support equipment operating at the Akyem Mine.
Essential Duties:
- Direct supervision and Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for welding task completion in shop and field
- Ensure backlog welding workorder completion and task supervision
- Assist in the development and implementation of safe efficient welding Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs)
- Responsible for welding resource and materials forecasting at the crew level
- In charge of welding procedure, consumable, process development and monitoring as well as training

Required Skills or Experience
- A first degree or HND in Engineering, Engineering Technician III or other related discipline
- Three years of maintenance operations work experience at the Supervisor or Foreman level and ten years total welding maintenance operations experience
- Ability to schedule, prioritize and manage maintenance resources and tasks
- Direct experience in welding services to a blasthole drill and/or hydraulic shovel fleet
- Experience with the use of ERP based equipment maintenance functionality
